When urged to pick a side
(not sit astride the fence)
my fluid muse provides this fine defense:
that these two eyes may see a world as one.
The work of these two hands remains undone,
and there is yet more love under the sun
than I may recognize with just one sense.
So, here abides the truth to set us free:
Your freedom to be you; mine to be me
resides in our Divine humanity.
Yes, as we are…so we were made to be.
