Boston Bisexual Women’s Network

Welcome to the home of the Boston Bisexual Women’s Network and birthplace of Bi Women Quarterly, produced in Boston for women everywhere. This site is an affirming space for women with bi+ (bi, pan, fluid, and other non-binary sexualities) and those who love and support us.

About the Boston Bisexual Women’s Network

The Boston Bisexual Women’s Network is a feminist, not-for-profit collective organization that brings women together for support and validation. It is meant to be a safe environment in which women of all sexual self-identities, class backgrounds, racial, ethnic and religious groups, ages, abilities and disabilities are welcome. Through the vehicles of discussion, support, education, outreach, political action and social groups related to bisexuality, we are committed to the goals of full acceptance as bisexuals within the gay and lesbian community, and to full acceptance of bisexuality and the liberation of all gay and transgender people within the larger society.

Who is Welcome?

We welcome all women, including women who identify as bi, fluid, omnisexual, pansexual, questioning, transgender, and our lesbian and heterosexual allies too. Also welcome: non-binary folks who feel comfortable at a women’s event. We are the home of the Bi Women Quarterly, a quarterly publication. Bi Women Quarterly has been around since 1983 and is the oldest continuously published bi women’s newsletter in the world.

We host monthly potluck brunches in members’ homes, a well as other social and educational events. See our calendar for more information. Note: our calendar is also published in each newsletter. If you are in the Boston are area, we also invite you to sign up for the biwomenboston email list so we can keep you informed of local activities and opportunities.

We host occasional potluck brunches at members’ homes. These are relaxed, informal gatherings. ALL women & non-binary folks comfortable in this space are welcome. Here is a list of upcoming events:

Want to host a brunch? Hosting a BBWN Brunch in your home is fun and easy! Create a welcoming environment for all bi+ and bi–friendly women and nonbinary folks who attend.

  • Provide directions to your home to people who RSVP.
  • Provide drinks (such as coffee, tea, water, and/or juice).
  • Provide plates, forks, spoons, knives, and cups.
  • If your budget can accommodate it, provide one potluck dish.
  • Invite your women and nonbinary friends!

We’re Here to Help!

Contact the brunch coordinator at BWQevents@gmail.com to schedule your brunch. We are very happy to answer any questions you might have. We will post the basic information (date, time, town, your contact info) in the calendar and Bi Women Quarterly. If you are not comfortable sharing your email in certain places (or at all), please let the brunch coordinator know and they will work with you to make accommodations.

Digital Brunches

You are invited to join us at our monthly brunches on Zoom, from 1-2:30pm Eastern Standard Time. Women and nonbinary folks from anywhere in the world are welcome to join us.

“I call myself bisexual because I acknowledge my potential to be attracted, romantically and/or sexually, to people of more than one gender, not necessarily at the same time, in the same way, or to the same degree.” –Robyn Ochs
