I’m sitting
in the coffee shop
where I saw you second

when I was his and you were hers
before our conversations about
master’s degrees and plays we’d seen
before subtle hand graze
and “does she like me back?” squeezes
(I did, by the way)
before you showed me pictures
of your dog and we found out our
favourite songs were the same
when you thought that I was straight
but were wondering if there was something
a little bit…about me
